History

Melchaiah was born to the Matron of the 2nd House of Uraechis as a Prince. He won the title of successor in a ritual contest of arms called Shirratu. In his society all people had to strive for emotional perfection, what the Trecouri called being divine. Improper emotions by Trecouri standards are ill favored, and any emotion that is negative; sorrow, anger, jealousy, resentment, or any display of excessive emotion, even joy, are considered improper. One must always be pleasant mannered and never overly emotional to become divine. They pride themselves on logic, but by most people's standards their logic is seriously warped. How divine one is decides a Trecouri's place in society in time. Slavery is common among these people, and those who are habitually improper of emotion are enslaved, their emotions often wiped from them with powerful domination practices. Trespassers to their kingdoms and cities are either killed or enslaved. Trecouri live to be upwards of 500, but are marked as elderly when they reach their 350th birthday. When the lines of age fall hard on Trecouri, they are given three end of days choices which they must choose from and abide by. They can either: offer themselves as slaves to the house of a patron or matron's choosing, in which case they must obey their master always and never show their face unless summoned by their master; or they can leave Trecouri society after a ceremony which wipes their memories clean of all but the most basic knowledge of survival, otherwise, start their lives over on a clean slate as aging people; and lastly they can choose to offer themselves as an honored sacrifice to their house ruler to aid in their divine ascension. Corruption runs rampant among the Trecouri in their search for power, divine emotion, and perfection.

Melchaiah resented his people's way of life and nepotistic society and deserted his people, embracing his emotions as a wonderful and precious aspect of nature he had no wish to crush, and because he disagreed with Trecouri dictorialship and way of life in general. In most cases alienation of Trecouri society is punishable by death or slavery by Trecouri law. The rulers make exceptions for their own children, siblings, nephews, and neices, however, which they value highly as royal heirs to a ruling house, and rather than execute a close family member that attempts to flee from their society, a leader will attempt to track a fugative family member down and break the renegade with their mental powers to gain complete control of them. In severe cases, when a royal family member repeatedly attempts to desert, they are labeled apostates and enslaved to the ruling patron if they are recaptured. Melchaiah was caught trying to flee repeatedly, and when he deserted a fifth time and was captured; he was sold by his own mother to the evil Matron Sekura of the 1st House of Melekar who enslaved the Uraechis prince. Sekura was killed twenty years after enslaving Melchaiah by Sir Maximus Caerellius of Noct'maire during a raid on Castle Noct'maire, which she and her army attacked in hopes of plundering powerful magic items. When she was killed; the enslaving bonds were broken to free Melchaiah of her control and enslaving bonds. He fled again, and using a magic gate ring he stole from Sekura, he stole back his own wealth, which Sekura had stolen from him, and used the ring to gate himself and his strong boxes of jewels, gold and diamthrill coins to the Lonely Cavern Mountains far north of his people's city on Demon Horn Lake. He hid his wealth and went looking for property to purchase, passing himself off as a Nether Elf. He bought an estate with a handsomely rustic and ruggedly built manor, with one thousand acres of grassland and forest edging the mountains. He planted an orchard with a variety of fruit trees, raised horses and livestock, and in time retained servants, one of them a goblin.

Fate made a slave of Kai once again when he was ill fated to meet his future sire Lilith. He had traveled north to a village on the coast and there met the beautiful but wicked Lilith. She was a dark goddess and he was a young Trecouri on his own. He did not stand a chance against her seductive charms. She brushed against him and his attention was drawn. She took his arm in hers and ushered him down the road and he found himself unable to resist her. He did not even know he wanted to until it was too late. She led him through a gate and took him to her warded haven, where over a period of days she raped him, stole his will, sired him and made a slave of him with her dominating touch and blood. Kai was a good creature who had rejected his own people and turned pretender and thief to survive and Lilith forced him to relent to his regret, his self-doubt, his fears, and his guilt. She made him her best male incubus and he collected many a specimen for her, either for slaves, food, or just to torment before cutting them loose. Kai did what he could to resist, but each time he defied her, she overpowered his will then had him raped by gangs of demon acquaintences, sometimes while being skinned alove, often in the presence of others, her Lord Sammael included. She loved to show off how strong he was to her Lord. She commanded Kai to make children with women, and after she was sure he was attached to them, she ate them in his presence, knowing he loved and desired children. She took those progeny which disappointed her to Kai, and when he got attached to them? She murdered them and feasted on them in his presence as well. Why did she go to such lengths to torture him? Because he was too beautiful, too perfect, too good despite all the things he did for her. Fact was; a part of her admired him and even desired him for being so good, wanted him too much, and for that reason she lashed out at him. He was not worthy of her, he was a carnal slave to be used as a tool and by her friends like a ten cent whore, and she desired him? He confused her and that was dangerous. She tortured him in many ways, and for all the agony and torment she inflicted on him, whether unspeakable pain or forced bliss, she was impressed by his strength and will to endure and above all, his Trecouri habit and ability to control his emotions.

Kai thought often of seeking a means to kill himself, but his frail hope that he might one day escape kept him alive. For over five hundred years he served her will, carried out her foul deeds, and it was the last task she commanded of him which led to his freedom. She ordered that he seduce and claim a female human named Marianna who was in the way of her claiming her suitor Maximus of Noct'maire. Lilith was after a powerful clan's kin and Melchaiah was discovered by the Dragon Lord and King of Marianna and Maximus. He claimed the lady with ease, but her king suspected foul play because of the ease and quickness with which she had fallen in love. Melchaiah plotted his escape through his newest task, he had to be careless while seeming clever. It was the only way he could defeat Lilith; he had to betray her by following her orders somehow, and he had figured out a way he might do just that. He persuaded Lilith to go along with a plan, to make him believe that he was in love with Marianna and forget whose progeny he was, so that he could not be caught in a lie. It worked. Kai fell in love with his victim Marianna after Lilith provided him with a potion. The fact that he did not know who his sire was made Aurelius suspicious. Too many things made the king wary of Kai and his intentions towards his human daughter, whom he planned to sire. Aurelius commanded him to strip down, and seeing Lilith's mark on him,he attacked Melchaiah violently and remade him...Tore him into oblivion and put him back together again, imbued him with his blood and parts of himself.

Had Melchaiah not been betrayed by his sire's mark, he and Marianna might have soon been wed. Having been victim to Lilith himself, and being wise and of ancient age; Aurelius knew what to look for. After destroying Melchaiah, Aurelius began to recreate him by gathering his born with embodiment from a past state, before he was ever sired, and as the Trecouri was being reborn out of that, and held in stasis of incorruptible death; the king commenced to fuse him with immortal fiber and bombard him with various elements, a complex incarnation, and his own blood. He restored all of his memories and sieved through them all from birth to his last moments. There was nothing about Melchaiah Aurelius did not know when he had sifted through to the last thing the Trecouri experienced. Aurelius fused the soon to be Seraphim with chosen aspects of his own embodiment; his vampiric elemental bastion and whithering doom; his morgrue scentlessness and immunities to cold, fire and hellfire; his falcon's wings and eyes; his shadow dragon's shadow path and necromantic immunity; his silver dragon's scales and lunar elements; his lion's claws and fangs, until at last he had created a first generation and the only existing Noct'maire Seraphim. As Melchaiah was reborn Aurelius' seal manifested on his shoulder. Night had long fallen by then and as the newly born Noct'maire rose up out of the ether, Aurelius dropped to the grass beside him and blew a long breath. His feat was done.

But even after he was discovered, remade, and the spell was broken; Melchaiah was in love with Marianna, was so deeply in love with her that he desired her as his mate, but her heart belonged to Maximus. His love for her tormented him and he sought love elsewhere, but Marianna was everpresent on his mind and no one else could make him forget her. Did she truly want him to forget her? Aurelius had commanded that no one pursue her, that she alone would choose who to court. Kai waited, hinted much as he dared, but she ignored him. Oh she was pleasant and tolerated him as a friend, which drove him even more insane. He slept with three of Noct'maire's servants hoping to cure himself of her, but he only felt worse. Victoria, a demoness of Noct'maire which he slept with, got overly possessive of him and made his life a living hell of being wanted by someone he did not love. She acted like she owned him and was quite domineering towards him with her lusts. Kai began to wander during dangerous times to escape his heart ache, the fierce desires of a demoness, and to seek what he desired above all; a mate who he could love and have children with. Kai vowed he would never be anyone's slave again. He would die the most terrible death imaginable first. He found the woman he hoped would be his mate at the Lake of Shadows Inn the very night Marianna made it clear that she could not love him. Schae was willing to try; she was a good sport; she took the leap with him.

He let me taste freedom for the first time in my life.
Before I end up a slave again I shall die in strife.
In my father I see no pretense,
Only a man who gave me a second chance.
I shall not disappoint his expectations.
I shall be nothing if not a good son.

Such a man was his King; his father; his creator. He carried his honor and his burdens alike with determination and courage. Fear angered him, love gentled him, and danger made him laugh. Kai did not want to be him; he would never imagine himself so high, but he did want to make him proud; glad that he had chosen him.

Are you are an Elf?"
He hated lying. "I am a demon."
The girl shook her head. "I mean, were you an elf?"
His eyes thinned on her suspiciously. Was she a spy for the Trecouri? He could never be sure. How long was long enough to relax? "I am what you see," he said, and left it at that.

"I am afraid all the time; but I am never afraid to fight for what I believe in." Kai
